21.04.24 New Section

I've just added an all new section to my website where I share my hobby of building 3d models of aircraft on my computer. This is all about model making without the need for glue and paint!

All these models are created completely from scratch using a set of blueprints, and involve lots of historical research along with the studying of photos of actual aircraft to try to build as accurate three dimensional interpretations as I can.

I also use these models to create the digital cover arts that I've been producing for Osprey Publications for many years.

I hope you enjoy!

04.12.21 New Valor release

Very pleased to announce my new Valor painting 'Black Thursday'.

Set during the Eight Air Force's tumultuous October 14 raid on Schweinfurt in 1943, Black Thursday depicts a flash point in time where the fates of opposing foes has yet to be decided. For the crew of the B-17 'Wabbit Twacks III' their war was to end on this mission, shot down, most of the crew would become POWs. For the Luftwaffe's ace Alfred Sarau his war was to end this day too, badly injured he would succumb to his injuries a few days later.

October 14 1943 would indeed end as 'Black Thursday' for many of the participants, and forever cement it's place in the history of warfare.

02.12.18 Flypast article

I was very flattered to be asked to write a 'behind the scenes' article on my Valor commission 'Outrun the Eagles' for Flypast magazine.

It's actually an interesting process trying to break down your artistic choices into words, at the time you don't really think about it, but in writing the article you actually realise there is some method to the madness!

Flypast is now on sale in the shops.
